The School

Calthorpe Park School is a highly successful place to learn and grow. The school is in an exciting phase of ongoing development as its numbers increase year on year within the context of outstanding standards of care and expectation. The school’s projected growth over a number of years creates many ongoing opportunities for staff to develop, enhance and advance their careers within the same institution. The building work that will continue also offers staff and students first class learning and teaching environments. These include a brand new Sports Hall and full sized floodlit synthetic turf pitch.

We pride ourselves on the excellence of our exam results (Progress 8: +0.47; Attainment 8: 58.8) but our ethos is to support all students to have the opportunity to succeed and the experience of success in a culture of care and consideration; challenge and commitment; respect and responsibility; integrity and impression. These four are the tenets of ‘The Calthorpe Way’. We aim to education the whole child for the whole of their life: no ceilings or parameters; aspiring to excellence in everything we do.

Job/Person Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and aspirational teacher to join the Calthorpe community and cover for a colleague taking Family Leave. An advantage would be the ability to teach rugby. It should be noted that, although this is a temporary post, the nature of the school’s expansion may well create longer term opportunities especially if a second subject is offered.

OfSTED April 2017:

‘A very calm, purposeful and orderly school with the ‘business of learning’ at its heart, and the pupils thrive as a result’
‘… pupils are keen to learn, ambitious for their school and unfailingly polite and courteous… (and) are refreshingly understanding… mature and reflective’
‘Staff and pupils are positive about the school and are proud to be members of the community’
